More than fitting into a smaller space

Downsizing is one of those words that makes it sound simple. It's not. You're not just deciding what fits in a smaller space — you're sorting through decades of living. Holiday decorations your kids grew up with. Furniture from a first home. Things that carry weight because of what they represent, not just what they are.

This work is practical and emotional at the same time, and it deserves to be handled with care.

I help seniors work through the process of deciding what comes with you, what goes to loved ones, what gets donated, and what finds a new home — without rushing, without pressure, and with every decision in your hands. When family is involved, they're welcome in the process — but you're my client. Your home, your belongings, your choices.

If this sounds familiar

You know you need to downsize, but the thought of starting is overwhelming. There's too much, it's been there too long, and you don't know where to begin.

Or maybe the move is already scheduled and the timeline is real. Someone needs to help sort through everything, and the family is stretched thin — geographically, emotionally, or both.

Or maybe you're the adult child. You're trying to help a parent through this and you're not sure how to help.

Whatever the situation, you don't have to figure it out alone.

We start with what matters to you

Not what fits in the new place — what matters. The rest flows from there.

I hold an ICD Certificate of Study in Understanding the Needs of Aging Clients — education that shapes how I approach every visit, from the pace of the work to the way I communicate.

I work on your terms, in your home, with your input on every decision. Nothing leaves without your say-so. If something is hard to part with, we talk about it. If you need to stop for the day, we stop.

For families helping a parent, I can be the steady, neutral presence in the room — someone who isn't attached to the outcome of any single item and can help keep things moving without adding to the stress. But to be clear: the senior is always my client. Their pace, their priorities, their decisions.

I can also help with the practical side — coordinating donations with San Antonio organizations, connecting you with estate sale or auction options through my partnership with MaxSold, and making sure what goes to loved ones actually gets there.

You're welcome here too

If you're coordinating this for a parent, I understand how much there is to manage — logistics, timing, and family dynamics all at once.

The most important thing I can tell you is that your parent stays in control of this process. Every decision about their belongings is theirs. I'm here to support them directly — not to override what they want because someone else is on a timeline. That respect is what makes this work.

The free call — usually 20 to 30 minutes — is for you too. Even if your parent isn't ready to start, I can help you think through timing and what to expect.

Getting started

Everything starts with a phone call — free, usually 20 to 30 minutes, and no obligation. We talk about the situation, the timeline, and what kind of help would be most useful.

We’ll schedule our first appointment — a three-hour session where we walk through your space together, talk through what matters most to you, and begin working at your pace.

Who this work is for

This page is for seniors who are downsizing — whether by choice or by circumstance — and for the families helping them through it. You might be moving to a smaller home, transitioning to assisted living, or simply ready to lighten the load after years of accumulating.

You don't need to have a plan or a timeline before you call. That's what the conversation is for.

I work in San Antonio, Bexar County, and the surrounding area.

Common questions about downsizing

It depends on the size of the home, how much has accumulated, and how you like to work. Some clients complete the process in a few weeks. Some take months. There's no wrong pace — the timeline is built around you, not around me.

I help with everything leading up to the move — sorting, deciding, packing, donating, and coordinating logistics. I can also help unpack and set up your new space so you're not living out of boxes. The physical moving of furniture is handled by movers, and I can point you toward local options.

That depends on what they are and what you'd like. Some things go to family members. Some get donated — I know which organizations in San Antonio take what. Some may be suited for an estate sale or auction, and as a MaxSold Auction Partner, I can help coordinate that. Nothing gets tossed without a conversation.

I'm happy to talk with you about the situation. Even if your parent isn't ready to begin, a conversation can help you understand what the process looks like and what kind of support might help when the time comes. The call is free — usually 20 to 30 minutes and there's no obligation.

Completely. I hold myself to the codes of ethics of both the ICD and NAPO. What happens in your home stays between us.

Yes, and it happens more often than you'd think. My client is always the senior — and my role is to support what they want for their home and their belongings. That clarity actually helps. When everyone knows whose decisions they are, the process goes more smoothly.

You don't have to figure this out alone.

You don't have to have it all figured out before you reach out. That's what the conversation is for.
