You're not without options. And you don't have to do this alone.

Some homes carry more than just stuff. They carry years of accumulating — things saved for reasons that made sense at the time, things kept because letting go felt impossible, things that built up slowly until the space stopped working the way it used to.
If that sounds familiar, this page is for you. And if you're a family member trying to understand what someone you love is going through, it's for you too.
The word "hoarding" has become stigmatized, and not everyone identifies with it. If the term feels too heavy, you don't have to use it — not with me, not ever. What matters is whether your belongings have started affecting how your home functions. If they have, that's something we can work on together.
As a Level 2 ICD Hoarding Specialist, I bring specialized education to this work. I understand the patterns, the pace it requires, and the importance of never pushing someone faster than they're ready to go.
The space has gotten smaller over time. Rooms that used to be usable aren't anymore. Pathways have narrowed. You might be working around the clutter rather than through it.
Letting go of things feels harder than other people seem to think it should. Every item connects to something — a memory, a plan, a person, a "what if." The decisions pile up the same way the stuff does.
You may have had people try to help before — family members who meant well but pushed too hard, or a cleanup that happened without your input and left you feeling worse. That kind of experience makes it harder to trust the next person who offers.
Or maybe nobody knows. Maybe you've been managing this privately, and reaching this page is the first time you've looked for help. Whatever brought you here, you don't have to explain it all right now. That's what the conversation is for.
This work is slow on purpose.
I don't come in and start clearing things out. I come in and listen. What matters to you? What feels hardest? What would make even a small difference in how your home works day to day? We start there.
Every decision about every item is yours. I will never throw anything away without your knowledge and permission. I will never pressure you, rush you, or judge what you choose to keep. That's not a policy — it's how I believe this work has to be done.
Some sessions we'll sort through a small area. Some sessions we'll spend most of the time talking through what makes a particular space hard to address. Both are productive. Progress in this work doesn't always look like a cleared room. Sometimes it looks like being able to open a door you haven't opened in a while.
I also want to be clear about what I'm not. I'm not a therapist, and this isn't therapy. If you're working with a mental health professional, I can complement that work — I'm the practical, in-home piece. If you're not, and I think you might benefit from that kind of support, I'll say so.
If you're here looking for help on behalf of someone in your life, you're welcome here too.
This kind of situation is hard on everyone involved. The most important thing I can tell you is that lasting change has to be chosen by the person whose home it is. That's not a limitation — it's how this work actually holds.
Whether your loved one is ready to start or not, I'm happy to talk. The free call — usually 20 to 30 minutes — is for you too. I can share resources, recommend books, and help you think through what kind of support might make sense. You don't have to figure this out on your own either.
That's what the conversation is for.
